esp bbq and beatz 300x225 Joe Holmes
Most of the ESP crew together @ one of the many BBQ and Beatz park parties.
Holmez, pronounced like Gomez, has been collecting and mixing records since the age of 17. As well as being a classically trained trumpet player and a novice percussionist. He’s now a 29 year old husband and father who is still deeply passionate about dance music and it’s culture.

Joe Holmes was born and raised in the DFW metroplex in North Texas. That is where he discovered underground House Music, which became an instant obsession. His passion for for House combined with the love and respect for many other forms of music keeps him hungry for more. No matter if it’s old or new, as long as it can be felt in the heart, mind, body and spirit.

Holmez is a member and co-founder of Eclectic Souls Project out of Dallas, Texas. ESP was founded along with Joe’s mentor, Craig Howell, in 2001. There have been countless artists, collaborators and party people involved with ESP over the years. Through the growing process many dear friends have been made and so many amazing experiences have been had. All the while the main focus of the group has been kept in tact. Which is the shared love and desire for music, community and life! Whether it be a Sunday BBQ and Beatz in the park, a booty shaking club night or an after-hours party for the record books, ESP always brings the love and strives to keep the vibe alive.

Mr. Holmez is also a new member of the crew Induced Grooves based out of Orlando, FL and Little Rock, AR. After meeting Manny Ledezma in 2009 they both realized that they had similar tastes in House, Disco, Techno, Minimal and IDM, among others. So it was a natural progression to throwing events and gigging together. Holmez and Manny also perform tag-style sets under the moniker “Sleazy Soundwrights.”
