A cosmic journey that has stood the test of time…

The early stages for Manny Ledezma

It all started in the early to mid 90’s with his introduction to the coined genre “IDM” with such artist as Plastikman, Orbital, The Orb, Aphex Twin, Autechre, William Orbit, System 7, Future Sound of London, etc. As the years went by and his musical prowess expanded through other genres of music, he discovered the rave scene in 1996 in the Mid-South where he resided. Here is where electronic music took on new meaning.

Q: How did you feel about the scene at that time?

“Seeing thousands of people being enveloped and totally dedicated to sound in such a way, blew my mind. I was one of those people.” “I love many genres of music; but electronic music just seemed to make sense.”

Jump starting Manny’s career as a DJ…

The next logical step was investing in his first set of turntables, mixer, and records. Time went by, he taught himself how to mix, he worked with others throwing events as well as throwing his own. He eventually played at events throughout the Mid-South and South.

This was only the beginning…

As life next led him to Florida to pursue an education. After graduating with degrees in Business and Recording Arts, he focused on getting out and playing the various clubs around Florida. He soon established himself in the state with his music selection and mixing ability.

Q: What makes your mixing so unique?

“I respect the artists and the music they produce; however as a DJ I’m not content with just playing their tracks. As an artist myself, I take their music and make it my own. I’m not a glorified jukebox, I don’t just play tracks; I mix, I create.”

As everything comes around full circle…

He finds himself back in the Mid-South, and maybe for good reason.

Currently in the works…

Manny continues to consistently play venues as well as honing his sound and skill with production and remixing. He’s a partner in the upcoming label Illegal Alien Records and a partner in running Induced Grooves Nightlife Entertainment. He organizes Arkansas’s only forward thinking underground EDM night called HeadStrong Sessions as well as the Get Loose events in Orlando bringing and playing alongside some of the world’s top DJs / producers.  A mechanic on the decks with an ear ahead of its time, innovating while pushing boundaries only comes naturally.  Keep your eyes open and ears ready, Manny Ledezma will be a breakthrough artist on the world’s stage soon enough.
